Eric Garcia’s return to Barcelona looking more probable.

Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona side have faced a ton of financial problems and the team has also suffered many major, season-changing injuries so far since the former Everton manager’s arrival. The Dutchman has already lost two key players: Ansu Fati, who was a huge reinforcement in the Barcelona attack, and the club’s main centre-back, Gerard Pique. Both of these players are out for more than three months.

Barca do have academy graduate reinforcements such as Oscar Mingueza and Pedri but it looks like the Catalans will be going into the winter transfer window to make a few signings even though things are a little tight financially at the Nou Camp. One of Koeman’s prime targets is Manchester City‘s Garcia. The 19-year-old centre-back can be a quick solution to the problems in defense.

Garcia is a former La Masia product as he was scooped up by the City academy when he was young. The Spaniard is fantastic on the ball, he’s got exquisite passing and man-marking abilities. The Manchester centre-back was offered a new deal to extend his stay at the City of Manchester Stadium but it looks like the player has his heart set on his boyhood club.

According to multiple sources, the 19-year-old Spanish international has already agreed on personal terms with the Blaugranas and will be making a move in January. In order to make money from the Spaniard’s sale, Manchester City will need to sell the youngster in the January transfer window of 2021 as his contract ends in the following summer. Garcia will be a fantastic addition to Koeman’s side and it looks like the footballer is more made for the slow, calm, and composed build-up play available in the La Liga as he struggled in patches under Pep Guardiola in England.
