Marseille make the centre-back wanted by Barcelona available.

According to French media house, le10sport, Olympique Marseille are looking to load off a lot of their top players, including one wanted by Barcelona, in order to survive a financial meltdown. The Coronavirus pandemic has taken a toll on the economy all over the world and sporting institutions were the ones that were badly affected.

The former giants of French football are planning to sell off their best players in order to compensate with their economic crisis. To balance in check they have decided to let go of midfielder Morgan Sanson and centre-back, Boubacar Kamara. They have put a hefty price tag on both of the players, 30 million euros for the Portuguese midfielder but an even bigger one on the defender.

The 21-year-old French defender has been monumental for the side. Coming up from the youth academy of Marseille, the player has now become a regular for the team. The player has played every game for the side this season, barring one due to a red card suspension. He has been solid at the back and his no-nonsense defending has seen his team climb up to fourth on the league table, losing just two games in the process.

Thus it is no wonder that Barcelona is scouting him and wants to buy the young talent. He is tall, has good aerial ability, solid at the back, and has under 21 national team experience. The Spanish giants are facing a problem with centre-backs, with injuries after injuries, they only have three centre-backs remaining and two of them are quite inexperienced.

Bringing in a player of his caliber would be a dream for the Catalans however, due to his 60 million euros price tag, that dream could stay a dream. The club is in no position to pay such an amount and they would have to sell a lot of players to match the price. No, the deal just does not match with Barcelona’s needs right now and they would be much better off waiting for Eric Garcia to arrive at the end of the season.

Should Barca consider signing Kamara?
