Barcelona could be bidding adieu to their beloved Camp Nou.

Barcelona are finally going to host an election process in the month of January in 2021 to reveal the new president of the club since the resignation of Josep Maria Bartomeu in the month of October in 2020. There are various candidates for the currently vacant presidential position at the Nou Camp.

More from Everything Barca

One of the presidential candidates, Augusti Benedito has promised future plans on a new stadium. Now the reports suggest that a new stadium is in the plans. Barcelona will have a new stadium or venue to play at very soon.

This only means that the historic Nou Camp will soon be demolished. A total of 3 years is reportedly the amount of time that would be needed to build a new stadium. Up until then, the squad will have to either play on the city’s Olympic ground or the stadium which is already there for the under 21 squad.

Another presidential candidate for the Blaugrana is Joan Laporta who has promised to bring in new transfers in the January transfer window of 2021 itself with reports suggesting a move for Hector Bellerin from Arsenal to Barcelona under the influence of the potential president.

Victor Font, on the other hand, has promised the fans that they will be seeing the former number 6, Xavi Hernandez, as their coach, if he is to be made the president.

Font has also promised to convince club legend Lionel Messi to stay and retire at the Nou Camp itself. The future does look positive for Barcelona as they are going through a bit of a rough patch, with financial problems at the club and injuries to pile on that. The arrival of the month of January in 2021 will reveal a lot of news for the club in terms of future plans and new incoming transfers to strengthen the squad.
