AC Milan enquire Barcelona for loaning talented youngster
Barcelona youngster offered an escape by AC Milan.
Barcelona youngster Riqui Puig made a statement with his performance near the end of last season. Many believed the young player to be one of La Masia’s best products in recent years. He was quick on the ball, fast, and had a good vision. Puig, Ansu Fati, and Pedri were supposed to be the new generation however, while Pedri and Fati are being used frequently by Ronald Koeman, Puig has been frozen out of the team and barely makes any appearances.

In order for a 21-year-old to keep improving, he needs to play regularly. His talents are being wasted on the benches of Camp Nou and thus Koeman realized that the best thing for Puig would be to go out on a loan. Even at the beginning of the season, Koeman told the youngster that he would not get much playing time and should thus look for a club elsewhere but Puig wanted to stay and fight for his place.
The Dutch manager staying true to his words, gave the midfielder no starts and just four appearances in all competitions. There is no point in staying at Barcelona in this situation, especially when a club like AC Milan wants to loan out the player. Yes, Italian giants, AC Milan are looking to loan out the prodigy for the rest of the season and it would be a great change for him.
Puig will get much more starts and he will get to experience football in another top-tier league. He will also be playing for a team who are doing exceptionally well this season and are still unbeaten in the league after 14 games. Puig could be just what the Milan side needs to finally dethrone Juventus. The player will add another dimension to their attack and their midfield will be much less linear in nature. Puig will also add squad depth which the Italian side desires as well.
A loan away to Milan is exactly what the young talent needs at the moment. He could spend his time in Barcelona trying to fight for a place in the team or else he could travel to Italy to play regularly under Stefano Pioli. Puig will be fighting for the Scudetto alongside top tier teams such as Inter Milan, Napoli, Juventus, etc. It will be a very good learning experience for the 21-year-old and he really cannot sit and waste a season under a coach that does not wish to play him.
Should Puig take this opportunity or remain at Barca?
