Former Barcelona boss Quique Setien talks potential return.

The former Real Betis manager Quique Setien has opened up about his six-month tenure at the Nou Camp earlier this year. The Spaniard was rated as a good manager but his time with Barcelona was not exactly a highlight as he was sacked within six months and failed horribly in La Liga and in the UEFA Champions League. The coach has opened up about his stay with the Blaugrana and has stated positive characteristics according to his personal experience.

Setien has stated that he would most certainly return to the Nou Camp if he was given the opportunity as his stay was ecstatic and he absolutely loved his time there. He claims that his time was wonderful at the Nou Camp and that the atmosphere, the club, and the players made his experience completely worth it.

"“The experience was extraordinary, It is true that we did not enjoy what we would have liked and with that illusion, I went from the beginning. Of course I would return to Barcelona and I would never regret having gone, not at all.” Setien said.Source Goal via Marca."

The 62-year-old ended up suing the club after his sacking but he has absolutely nothing but positive characteristics to mention about Barcelona. The former Real Betis coach came into the Nou Camp to succeed Ernesto Valverde in the 2019/20 season. However, he was sacked after blowing the lead in the league, while being thrown out of the UEFA Champions as Hansi Flick’s Bayern Munich absolutely demolished the Catalans scoring eight goals in ninety minutes.

The coach was sacked instantly after that defeat and Barca are still under recovery trying to make it back to the top. Although Setien has stated that he would return to the Nou Camp in a heartbeat he failed to deliver what was expected of him during his tenure with the Spanish giants.
