The most likely club he might join is Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. It is well known that the Spanish coach wants to reunite with his star player and after extending his contract with City till 2023, he will definitely try to bring his prodigy to England. The Manchester club was linked with Lionel Messi throughout the transfer drama and it was exactly where he would have headed had Barcelona’s previous manager not interfered.

Manchester City are one of the best teams in all of Europe right now and if Messi wants to win the UEFA Champions League again, he could not choose a better club. Messi has also praised his former boss with affection, most recently calling him one of the best coaches Barcelona had ever had, in an interview with La Sexta. City also has the financial power to secure this move and provide a lucrative contract to Messi.
