Luis Suarez’s performances with Atletico Madrid outshine Barcelona forwards.

Former Barcelona veteran and legend, Luis Suarez has taken absolutely no time to settle over at the Wanda Metropolitano under Diego Simeone. A switch of clubs with completely different styles of play would make one think that a center-forward will need a little time to settle but as for the Uruguayan, he is up and firing under Simeone for Atleti since his arrival.

More from Everything Barca

The former Liverpool star was sold by Barca as the club was going through financial problems at the time and needed to free up wages. Suarez was one of the players who had one of the highest wages at the club. New manager Ronald Koeman made it extremely clear since his arrival that Suarez will not be a part of his plans during his time at the Nou Camp. Hence, the striker was sold for free with the Madrid giants ready to swoop a reliable talent.

Both the manager and the club fans must be heavily regretting the fact that Suarez left as he has been outstanding under Simeone. The Uruguayan has the same amount of goals as Antoine Griezmann, Martin Braithwaite, Ousmane Dembele, and Philippe Coutinho combined.

Barca have struggled to get goals this season and the loss of their veteran striker is completely visible as the Catalans are struggling to finish the chances that they’re creating for themselves.

The Uruguayan has had an immense impact on Atletico. The forward has scored 9 times in 11 starts including scoring and assisting on his debut for the club. It is not a surprise that the Uruguayan is a huge competitor and does not give up easily.

His mentality and strength to keep fighting are unreal. Something the current Barca forwards are clearly lacking this season. Barca are yet to find a proper replacement for him after his departure. A transfer for Memphis Depay was on the cards but that did not go through due to multiple financial problems at the Nou Camp.
