Frank Lampard wants to coach Barcelona one day.

According to Esport 3’s reporter, Guille Balague, Frank Lampard is still hoping that he may get the Barcelona job one day. The England legend always wanted to join the club ever since he was a player, but he never got the chance to play for the Catalans. He might have not been able to play for the Spanish giants as a player but he could end up as a manager at the Camp Nou if he can improve his managerial record.

The Chelsea legend who played in the midfield scored the most number of goals, any player ever scored in a Blues jersey. He retired from professional football in 2017 and played his last career game for New York City Football Club. He since then went on to manage Derby County in the EFL Championship and is currently managing his old club, Chelsea F.C.

The Blues manager had a successful season with The Rams and finished sixth on the table. They did play in the play-offs but lost to rivals, Leeds United. His successful season with Derby, he was given a chance to manage Chelsea but he has not proven quite so well. He has had a rather tough time this season as he spent around 200 million euros but they are still struggling in the league.

Lampard was linked with Barcelona when he was a player but his deal never went through and he ended up playing in England his whole professional career. It will be an uphill battle for Lampard this season and he must modernize his tactics if he wants to get a shot at the head coach position at the Catalan capital.

With Chelsea struggling to get near the top of the table and facing Atletico Madrid in the Semi-Finals of the UEFA Champions League, it seems like Lampard is in for a tough season and with his current performance, it is unlikely that he will ever get the job at Barcelona.
