Lionel Messi is tipped to leave his boyhood club after the end of the current season. Barcelona’s performances in recent years along with the former management’s inability to create a competitive squad along with struggling financially made the captain take the decision last summer. He tried to leave after the 8-2 trashing to Bayern Munich but was threatened with a lawsuit which forced him to see out his contract.

While the Argentine had decided not to take his beloved club to courts and play out the one year remaining in his contract as claimed by former president Josep Maria Bartomeu, the summer transfer window will be a crucial phase for both Messi and Barcelona, as it may be the final time the footballer plays in Blaugrana colors.

Ever since the news came out that the six-time Ballon d’Or winner wants to leave the Nou Camp, a plethora of European giants started showing their interest.
