#1 A Competitive Squad

First and foremost, Barcelona must understand that Lionel Messi is a man who wants to win. He wants to be in a team which is fighting for every trophy available and he wants to win every trophy available. The Catalan giants at one time were the kings of Europe and other competitors feared to match up against them.

They have lost that status in recent years and now they no longer hold that prestigious position. This was mostly caused due to years of mismanagement. What the Catalans need to offer their captain is a competitive squad which will be capable of winning the UEFA Champions League and La Liga.

This will come down to the new president as a complete overhaul is not possible at the moment. The new president-elect must propose a proper plan to their legend in order to keep him interested in Barcelona’s future.
