#3 Best Forward of the Year

There is no doubt in this category as Lionel Messi once again has been the most influential player in the whole team. Barcelona greatly benefits from his presence however, with the maestro turning 33 and soon to depart, they must learn to play without him as well.

The Argentine once again won the top goalscorer award in La Liga with 25 goals last season. This just shows his importance in the club. The captain was struggling at the start of the new season, but has been steadily finding his goalscoring form once again.

He has already scored 11 goals in 17 league matches and is on his way to becoming top scorer yet again. He has maintained his professional obligations to the club and has been completely focused on Barcelona’s season even though his career is surrounded by tumors.

Messi has admitted to slowly move towards a more playmaking role at the Nou Camp, but with the Spanish giants lacking players that can take over Leo’s role as a goalscorer, the Argentine must once again do all the heavy lifting.
