Koeman has already discarded a lot of players since his arrival at the Nou Camp. Many players were sold because they would not be a part of his plans for the club. Players like Carles Alena and Riqui Puig have suffered as they wished to fight for their spot, with Alena only recently deciding to leave for regular minutes. They spent most of the season on the bench this season, with Puig continuing his fight against Koeman.

The Dutch boss has made it clear that he wants to bring reinforcements with depth in left-back reportedly one of his focuses. The Dutchman is reportedly interested in Villarreal’s Alfonso Pedraza and Jose Gaya of Valencia. The manager feels that both the players would fit perfectly into his double pivot system at the Nou Camp.

The Catalans are also on their verge of landing Manchester City’s Eric Garcia, with the former academy defender set to join in the summer transfer window on a free transfer. After the presidential elections where Barcelona will have a new president after Josep Maria Bartomeu, the club will quickly move in for transfers.

Jose Gaya is reportedly the main target for Koeman as of now, whereas Pedraza is more of a secondary option in case the aforementioned deal fails. Junior Firpo does not look like he is going to be a long term part of Koeman’s plans at the Nou Camp. The Catalans will move in for one of these mentioned left-backs in the upcoming summer transfer window of 2021.
