Barcelona interested in signing Inter Milan’s future captain

According to Sport, Barcelona are looking to bring in Inter Milan youngster, Nicolo Barella, after he has taken the Serie A by a storm. The 23-year-old Italian midfielder has become a constant for Antonio Conte and he has repaid his manager with brilliant performances. Many elite clubs including the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid have been scouting the player and the Catalans could try to go for him next season.

Barella, who was brought to the San Siro from Cagliari Calcio last year, has already become one of the fixed players for the starting eleven. He has appeared in all of the Serie A matches this season and started in 15 of them. He has also scored two goals in the league while providing six assists. He has two more assists in other competitions.

The midfielder is similar to N’golo Kante as he has a really high work rate and always tries to win the ball back for his team. He is graceful with the ball as well and even though he is not as skillful as the top players, he can still carry the ball forward quite well and play some important passes.

He recently helped his team beat defending champions, Juventus. He was brilliant throughout the game, making important passes and finding spaces. He assisted in the first goal which former Juve man, Arturo Vidal, scored and he scored the second goal himself.

He has been a real treat to watch this season and many speculate that he could eventually go on to become the captain of Inter Milan. However, other clubs are always looking for young and talented players and thus of course their eyes caught Barella. Barcelona are one of the clubs that could go for the Italian but their finances will not allow them to make the deal go through in January.

However, after the presidential elections and sorting of finances, the Catalans could try to get their hands on the 23-year-old next season either in the summer transfer window or in the winter window. Other clubs that are linked to the player are Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
