Multiple sources are now reporting that former Newcastle man Georginio Wijnaldum will be rejecting any new Liverpool contract in order to join his boyhood dream team, Football club Barcelona. Ronald Koeman is a huge factor in this deal as both Dutchmen previously linked up during their time with the Netherlands International football team. During their time together, Wijnaldum played some of the best football of his career and many believe that he hit his peak under Koeman.

Wijnaldum to Barcelona has been a rumor for quite a while now. The midfielder has had a fantastic career at Anfield so far. So much so, that one would not expect the midfielder to leave so soon. Jurgen Klopp’s men have not exactly been at their best this season as they are having to play without their defenders. However, it looks like the Dutch international will not be extending his stay at Anfield.

The reports suggest that Wijnaldum wants to move to the Nou Camp in the summer. Many top tier journalists have suggested that the former Newcastle man has no intention of signing a new contract with Klopp now or in the foreseeable future.

Georginio actually played a massive role in Liverpool’s great comeback against Barcelona at Anfield. The Reds managed to turn a 3-0 first leg away deficit around and win the tie 4-3 credits to two fantastic quick goals by the Dutchman.

However, it is understood that it is a goal for the 30-year-old box-to-box midfielder to play for the Blaugrana before retirement. It is considered to be a childhood dream for the Dutchman and it looks like he is going to favor a move to the La Liga side, especially with Koeman as the coach.

It would be a fantastic opportunity for Gini and a step up as Barcelona is one of the biggest clubs in the world and that the club is a threshold and a form of achievement for European footballers.
