#2 Georginio Wijnaldum of Liverpool

Another Dutch player whom the manager tried to bring into Barcelona is Liverpool’s Gini Wijnaldum. The 30-year-old central midfielder is on the last year of his contract and was having a tough time negotiating an extension. He has now finally decided that he will no longer continue under Jurgen Klopp and will spend the remainder of his professional career elsewhere.

Koeman has already worked with Wijnaldum in the Netherland national team and is eager to bring him to Barcelona. Wijnaldum is a strong central-midfielder who has the ability to command the entire midfield. He is good on the ball and has good passing ability. He also uses his physical prowess to win back balls and help out the defense.

At the age of 30, he only has a few more years left to play at the top level but he is still a constant performer for Liverpool and his robust nature could be helpful for the Catalans. Koeman will definitely try to bring him in for next season however, his wages might be an issue as they will not be able to offer him a very big deal.
