Barcelona teenage sensation Ilaix Moriba made his senior debut against Cornella when the Catalan giants faced them in their Copa del Rey clash.

There was a huge deal of excitement and joy around the club as the youngster is deemed extremely talented and is being highly rated by the clubs’ coaching staff. The club have a huge amount of hope from the 18-year-old as the youngster has really matured as a footballer at a very young age.
Moriba just recently turned 18 years of age a week ago and thus the youngster hailed the debut as the perfect birthday gift he could ever ask for.
A huge amount of excitement is around the club for Ilaix as of now, as the club has reportedly put a 100 million release clause on him. Any interested clubs must pay 100 million euros to secure the youngster, despite him not having played regularly in the senior games.
That’s how much the club reportedly believes in the 18-year-old’s potential. The club believes that big teams all around Europe will come sniffing for the youngster and they want to stop any possible interest from rival clubs.
The youngster is Guinea born and he has been at the Nou Camp’s La Masia for a long time. The 18-year-old joined the Catalans from rivals Espanyol when he was aged 7. He is a playmaker who plays centrally and for his age, he looks extremely mature in decision making. His passing skills and vision are fantastic from what he’s put to display so far.
Potentially, he’s definitely capable of making Barcelona’s main team over the next few years. However, it is not an easy task to make the first team currently, given the amount of talent crowding the midfield.
Riqui Puig, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Philippe Coutinho, and Matheus Fernandes are all fighting for a spot, with Moriba looking to make his own impact. Barca also have many ‘B’ team midfielders besides Ilaix, like Alex Collado and Alejandro Orellana Gómez, looking to make their own name in world football.
