Defense

Marc-Andre ter Stegen is back to his usual best as the starting goalkeeper and has rescued Barcelona since he returned from injury. He was rested in their last match but is expected back in goal against Bilbao.

Koeman might have to make a decision when it comes to right-back. Oscar Mingueza has been filling in for the injured Sergiño Dest who himself had been filling in for the injured Sergi Roberto.

Roberto is close to getting the medical green light and could be available for this match. Should he be deemed fit, it is likely he will play in place of Mingueza who has not looked as comfortable playing right-back as he does in central defense.

Ronald Araujo continues to impress game after game and is now a lock for one of the center-back positions. The question that seemingly won’t go away is who plays alongside him. Clement Lenglet has not had a good season by his standard. Samuel Umtiti has performed well when given the opportunity but Koeman has yet to place his full trust in him.

Like Ter Stegen, Jordi Alba will play at left-back unless injured. He played a significant part in Barcelona coming back from a one-goal deficit against Rayo Vallecano and provided the assist for the winning goal.
