Victor Font

Victor Font on the other hand has taken a more rushed and hasty approach to solve the problem. Font has two parts to his method, the first is a “crash plan” for the first 100 days which will consist of negotiating with the players and restructuring their wages. Then they will hold negotiations with all the banks that they owe money to and finally, they will also try to postpone some of the debts that they owe to other clubs.

The second part of the plan is more structured and Font believes that they will be able to make 150 to 200 million euros in profit if they follow his plans. Font suggests that they need a new form of income in order to monetize the club’s massive 400 million fan base. Since there is no revenue in ticket sales anymore, they must enhance the digital sphere to earn money.

Font suggests that a new, young CEO is required who has in-depth knowledge about the digital, technological, and audiovisual world. This will be their new form of income. Like Laporta, he is also not sure about the Espai Barca project and he does not want to jeopardize Barcelona’s budget or the project. His plan is to finish the new stadium by 2025.
