The 22-year-old has heavy interests from both Barcelona and Real as his intentions about returning to his national country has been made clear. Olmo moved from Dinamo Zagreb to RB Leipzig for a fee of 20 million euros in the January transfer window of 2020. Just a year has passed since his move to the Bundesliga side and fresh top tier trusted sources state that the youngster is interested in playing in the La Liga.
Olmo stated that he would be “lying” if he mentioned that he did not see himself playing in La Liga and in his country in the future. The Blaugrana were heavily linked to the 22-year-old even before his move to the Bundesliga side. However, it was later revealed that the youngster had offers from top European clubs in Serie A and in the Premier League too.
The former Dinamo Zagreb player has had a good career so far at Leipzig where he’s registered a decent amount of goals and assists so far in a single calendar year. He also played a crucial part in RB Leipzig’s victory over Atletico Madrid to reach last year’s UEFA Champions League semi-finals. The player was asked if he had a particular team in mind for when he will eventually make his return to La Liga but the player refused to answer that by saying he’s currently completely “focused” on RB Leipzig.
According to the players’ comments, it’s almost certain that the midfielder will head back to his country in a few years, if not immediately. The player is currently focused on Julian Naggelsman’s side but it does not look like a situation that will be long term as he’s got heavy interest from the top La Liga sides such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid. Hence, a move for Dani Olmo to Spain is inevitable in the near future.
