#3 Ronald Araujo (Age: 21 | Defender)

One of the youngsters who has made the most impact on the club this season is Ronald Araujo. The 21-year-old centre-back has made it out of the Barcelona B team and is now slowly becoming a starter for Ronald Koeman.

The Uruguayan defender was put into the main team after veteran centre-back, Gerard Pique, was injured. Pique’s absence from the team left Koeman with no choice apart from trying out Araujo and Oscar Mingueza and it is safe to say that the Dutch manager took a liking to Araujo’s confidence.

Even though he never played in the top-level before, the defender plays with a cool head and has already proven to be more consistent than Clement Lenglet. In a recent report by the sporting director of Barcelona, Ramon Planes, mentioned that the club has only three senior centre-backs and Araujo was mentioned among them. The plan is to make the youngster a starter for the club and develop Eric Garcia alongside him to make sure that the club has two solid centre-backs for the years to come.
