Barcelona set €15 million transfer fee on backup goalkeeper
Marc-Andre ter Stegen is one of the best players in Barcelona and one of the best goalkeepers in the world. One could easily put him in the top five and thus anyone who is playing as a substitute goalkeeper at the Catalan side cannot expect much game time. Thus Barcelona’s second-choice keeper, Neto Murara, wants to leave the club but the club will accept no less than 15 million euros for his transfer according to Marca.

The 31-year-old has appeared in only 11 games so far in this season and it does not look like he will get many more chances to play. He sent in his transfer request in the winter transfer window but Ronald Koeman did not allow him to leave as he claimed he might need a backup keeper in case the German gets injured.
Neto did play a few games while the German number two was out with injury but ever since his full recovery, Ter Stegen has once again cemented his place in the starting eleven. The former Juventus goalkeeper was further disappointed when the German was started in the Supercopa de Espana games as well as the Copa del Rey games.
This made the Brazilian believe that he would no longer be getting any more chances at Barcelona and thus wanted a move away. However, his attempts at a transfer did not succeed and he may be stuck on the bench for two more years as his contract does not expire before 2023. The club is also adamant with their price as they need to raise money in order to pay off their debt and thus they will not accept anything below 15 million euros.
This is a tough situation for the goalkeeper as he only has a few more years left to play and he does not want to be stuck on the bench but at the same time his club does not want to sell him for a reasonable price, 15 million euros for a 31-year-old keeper is too much to ask for. We must wait and see how things progress.
Should Barca let Neto leave for cheap?
