Cesc Fabregas hails Lionel Messi as the perfect footballer
Lionel Messi is one of the world’s greatest footballers if not the greatest. He is only challenged by Cristiano Ronaldo but even there he has one more Ballon d’Or than his Portuguese rival. Thus, it is not surprising that many youngsters, as well as many veterans, take inspiration from Messi. Recently, one of Messi’s former teammates and childhood friend, Cesc Fabregas revealed how he thought that the Argentine was the ‘Perfect’ footballer and he felt honoured to have played with Messi.

Fabregas who played for Barcelona from 2011 to 2014, had the privilege of playing with some of the best footballers in the world. He won six major trophies with the Catalans including one La Liga title and one FIFA Club World Cup but was unable to win the UEFA Champions League with them.
He moved to Chelsea after his stint with Barcelona and he won two Premier League with the Blues. Currently, he is playing at Monaco and thus he has played with a lot of players throughout his career. However, even after gaining such vast experience, he still thinks that Messi is the most perfect player he played with.
The 33-year-old midfielder told reporters that he admired players like Thiery Henry, Messi, Carles Puyol and John Terry. He also claimed that he himself had mastered the art of passing but as for the perfect all-round player, no one can beat Messi. He said in the interview,
"“From all the players that I played with? I don’t really need to pick many, I will pick Lionel Messi and you have the perfect footballer right there. I don’t have to go that far.”Source Goal"
Fabregas had a great career with Barcelona scoring 42 goals while providing 50 assists, most of them to Messi himself. He was also one of the main contributors to the Argentine’s 73 goals season. The midfielder is now playing for Monaco but is also reaching the end of his playing career. He is satisfied with his career and said,
"“I like to look at the very, very best and I was thankful always that God gave me the opportunity to play with the very, very best for many years.”"
