Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar Jr picked up yet another injury during this crucial stage of the season. The Brazilian was met with yet another injury problem during PSG’s French Cup clash with Caen, in the round of 64. While fans would have wished to see Neymar return to the Nou Camp, this is great news for Ronald Koeman‘s Barcelona as they will be now facing the French giants who will be without their main talisman.

It is becoming a habit for the former Barcelona superstar to pick up injuries during the crucial stages of the season almost every year. However, this incident was purely based on bad luck as the 29-year-old was met with a crunching tackle at the beginning of the second half during PSG’s French Cup tie with Caen. The player went down in total distress and was crying out in pain as he was immediately taken off the pitch. According to many reports, the winger was spotted limping and left the stadium before the game even ended.
As of now, the official statements have come out. Neymar Jr will miss the UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against his former club next week. The reports have also stated that the Brazilian superstar will take time to recover and he will most probably be missing the second leg too. While this piece of news is disheartening for Paris Saint-Germain fans, it will not be the same for many Barcelona fans. The Blaugranas will be more than happy to entertain Mauricio Pochettino’s men without the Brazilian winger.
The likes of Angel Di Maria and Marco Veratti are also reportedly set to miss the tie. Ever since Neymar’s arrival at the Parc des Princes, PSG have failed to win a UEFA Champions League knockout tie when he was out injured. Hence, this will not be an easy job for Pochettino with so many major players out. This makes the task for Koeman’s struggling Barcelona a little easier.
