Lionel Messi has been linked with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City since last year and now the player has less than five months left to make a decision. While City have rejected claims that say that they have made contact with the player, it is hard to believe that the club who actively wanted Lionel Messi before, would not even attempt to sign him, especially when the player will be arriving for free.

More from Everything Barca

Earlier it was reported by Goal, that the English giants have denied making any links with the six-time Ballon d’Or winner but one of their best players might have just hinted otherwise. Sergio Aguero, the club’s all-time top scorer, who is also a twitch streamer, hinted that his compatriot might just come to the Manchester side next season.

In an interview with Ibai on twitch, he was asked about the rumors which connected Messi to his club. Aguero replied with a grin,

"“Who doesn’t like to play with Leo?”"

This might suggest that the player knows more about the situation than the fans or the media. This would not be surprising as the player is very good friends with Messi and even called the legend on one of his live streams on twitch. Messi must have shared a few talks with the striker and Aguero would obviously try to convince him to make the move to England.

However, even if the legend does reunite with Guardiola, there are no certainties that he would reunite with Aguero as well. The Premier League legend has entered the last five months of his contract as well and there have been no signs of a contract extension. On top of that, the player is already 32 and he has expressed that he would like to end his professional career with his boyhood club, Atletico Independiente.
