Man United star weighs in on Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo debate
The age-old debate about Lionel Messi Vs Cristiano Ronaldo continues to this date and different people have different opinions. The general debate however can agree on one thing, while Messi is naturally incredibly talented, Ronaldo reached the same heights through sheer determination and hard work. Thus people who prefer pure, raw talent, tend to side with the Argentine while those who merit hard work over anything else go with the Portuguese. Manchester United star, Eric Baily, however, has decided to go with a completely different decision altogether.

The 26-year-old centre-back from Ivory Coast, gave a bizarre answer when he was asked to give his opinion on the debate. In an interview with Guillem Balague on his Youtube channel, the United star was asked the tough question, Messi or Ronaldo and he said,
"“My greatest inspiration has always been Ramos. For me, he’s one of the best players in the history of football. Everyone has an opinion, but he is one of the best, the perfect reference point for me. If you ask me, Messi or Ronaldo, I’d say Ramos.”Source Goal"
While the defender is a legend at Spain and at Real Madrid, he cannot be outright compared to either Lionel Messi or Ronaldo due to their playing positions. However, it can be argued that defenders are not given their due recognition and thus it is nice to see them get credit as well. Having said that, Messi and Ronaldo are the two who dominated the footballing world for over a decade and no one can be put in the same league.
There is a possibility of Ramos pairing up with Messi is still possible as both the players are running out of their contracts by the end of the season and the Madrid defender has claimed that Paris Saint-Germain has a plan of playing them both together. The age-old rivals could be on the same team for the first time and it will certainly be an interesting development in their relationship.
