This is a crucial month for Barcelona and they must try to win every game if they want to lift any silverware this season. The club have UEFA Champions League second leg coming up as well as their Copa del Rey match against Sevilla, and three La Liga matches. The last thing that the club wanted was an injury, especially of an important player but that is exactly what has happened as Pedri has injured himself and no return date has been announced.

The 18-year-old midfielder, Pedri, became a very important part of Barcelona this season after Ronald Koeman gave him his breakthrough. He has been performing exceptionally and his presence was required to beat Sevilla on Saturday. However, he also injured himself in that match and he was later seen going to the club hotel in crutches and he did not exert any pressure on his left leg.
The club’s fans were all paranoid and their worst fears came true when the Catalans confirmed that the player had indeed pulled the soleus muscle in his left leg. The club have run tests on the player but were unable to let anyone know how long he would be out. The website merely said,
"“The medical evaluation and tests carried out this morning have shown that the first team player Pedri has a pulled muscle in his left leg. His recovery will be monitored.”Source Goal"
This is a huge blow for the Spanish side as they had managed to pull themselves back into the title race and they would need every player at their best to give Atletico Madrid some pressure. The upcoming match against Sevilla is also crucial as they are already trailing 2-0. This is a big blow for the club but hopefully, the midfielder will be back on the field soon.
Barcelona are currently second on the table and they will be hoping to surprise everyone by stealing the trophy from underneath Atletico’s nose however, it is unlikely that Diego Simeone’s men will let go of the lead as they still have two games in their hands.
