Barcelona suffer only an injury scare with Ronald Araujo
The Uruguayan center-back made his return in Barcelona’s last match.
The last thing Barcelona and manager Ronald Koeman wanted to see was Ronald Araujo on the pitch struggling to get up. But that’s exactly what they saw in their 2-0 win against Sevilla.

Araujo had been out injured after spraining his ankle against Real Betis and was making his return. He replaced Gerard Pique midway through the second half.
But his time on the pitch was short-lived as the Uruguayan had to be subbed off after it appeared that he had once again sprained his ankle.
Fortunately for him and the club, the injury does not appear to be serious. He was seen talking to Koeman and wanting to come back in. But the Dutch manager played it safe and replaced him with Samuel Umtiti.
A visibly upset Araujo then kicked some of the chairs on the sideline as he made his way to the stands.
According to Sport, the player only has one thing on his mind and that is the second leg against Sevilla in the Copa del Rey at the Camp Nou. Araujo uploaded a picture on his social media indicating he was fit and looking forward to the match.
Given how good Araujo has been, it makes sense that Koeman chose to sub him out and not risk a possible relapse. Especially if they want to overturn the 2-0 deficit in the cup. Also, if he is going to stick with the 3-5-2 formation, Koeman is going to need a fit Araujo.
Barcelona can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that it was not a relapse nor did he injure himself any further. In the end, it was nothing more than a scare but one that had many holding their breath.
