#3 Ronald Araujo (Age: 21 | Barcelona contract: Jun 30, 2023)

The Uruguayan centre-back who used to play for Barcelona’s B team before, has been instrumental for the club this season. After the injury that left Gerard Pique out of the field for months, it was up to the youngsters to step up, and step up is exactly what Araujo did. The 21-year-old made 21 appearances for the club this season and he could even take up Clement Lenglet’s place if the Frenchman does not improve.

The Catalans will have to improve Araujo’s current contract if he does go on to become one of Barcelona’s starters. His current deal runs out in 2023 but there were talks of a new contract before Josep Bartomeu resigned and the talks will surely resume after the election for the new president is completed.
