Barcelona boss claims there will be ‘Problems’ if his future is uncertain

Barcelona coach, Ronald Koeman, has proclaimed that there will be problems for the club if his own future with the Catalans is uncertain.

The former Everton manager has not had a dream start to his Barcelona managerial career, on the contrary, his first season has been fueled with controversies. Though some of them, like the Lionel Messi contract controversy and the Barcagate controversy, were not his fault, it affects his season nonetheless.

With the presidential elections coming up on the 8th of March, the Dutch manager is getting a bit worried about his position as head coach. Rumors about Joan Laporta and Victor Font planning to bring in new coaches are not helping his situation either.

Koeman opens up about his uncertain Barcelona future

Koeman finally spoke out about his future with Barcelona in a press conference on Tuesday. He told the reporters,

"“I have not spoken with anyone. We have to wait for who comes in as president and his plan,”“If I do not see an important future for me we are going to have problems, because I have one more year on my contract.”Source Goal"

Although there is immense pressure on the coach at the moment, removing him from the job would be a bit unfair due to circumstances surrounding the club. He was not given much funding to bring in his choice of players and there was a lot of internal turmoil when he took over the job.

Still, he has managed to take the Catalans to a cup final and they have managed to pull themselves back into the La Liga title race. With the club still fighting for the domestic league and Copa del Rey, one can say that Koeman is having a decent debut season although the beginning was a bit questionable. The Dutchman should be given one more season to work his magic and premature exit could undo all of Koeman’s good work.
