Despite having a slow start to the season, Messi has continued to show that he is far from over as he continues his fine form having scored 23 goals across all competitions. While the Argentine continues to lead Barca, a move away from the Spanish giants at the end of the season is still on the table.
It is no doubt that the Catalans have struggled this season but the appointment of Ronald Koeman has seen some positive changes despite the club making no significant changes to the squad amid a financial crisis. The Dutch coach has also suffered heavily with injuries throughout the season but has managed to remain second on the league table while having one foot in both Champions League and Copa del Rey.
Their latest 2-0 defeat to Sevilla in the Copa del Rey and 4-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League has many believing that their Argentine captain will surely leave to a better team at the end of the season.
There is no secret that both PSG and Manchester City are keen on securing the six-time Ballon d’Or winner for free at the end of the season. While the Premier League giants have both Pep Guardiola and a competitive squad to convince the Argentine, PSG have now immerged as the favorites.
Lionel Messi looks for a house in France
Spanish outlet, OkDiario, now claims that the Argentine is looking to purchase a house in Paris.
"“Messi is probing the real estate market, and it is not exactly that of Barcelona. He is probing, looking at flats and houses in Paris.” Eduardo Inda revealed"
Eduardo further spoke that Messi has three options for houses, where two of which are exclusive areas in Paris while the final option is the one near Neymar’s residence which is 15km from Paris.
While Laporta has stated repeatedly that his appointment will result in Messi staying, Eduardo believes there is only a 10% chance the captain stays.
Barca legend, Rivaldo, meanwhile believes that Man City are the most likely destination. It remains to be seen which future Messi decides for himself, but there is no doubt that the maestro is currently completely focused on the task at hand at the Nou Camp.
