Barcelona have the chance to make a redemption of their previous result against Athletic Club on 17th April. The Catalans suffered a shock loss in the Supercopa de Espana finals but now they can avenge that defeat.

More from Everything Barca

Athletic Bilbao won their second leg against Levante earlier today. The 2-1 victory was enough to send the Supercopa winners through to the finals, where they will once again face one of the biggest clubs in the world, Barcelona.

Barcelona must be at their best to avoid a shock defeat in another final

Bilbao did face the Blaugrana back in January in the Supercopa finals and they were the clear underdogs going into the fixture. The Catalan Kings looked to win Ronald Koeman his first trophy in his debut season however, they were lackluster throughout the match and Athletic exploited their mistakes.

It was a much more heated affair than it should have been and Lionel Messi even got a red card near the end of the game. The Spanish giants took the lead twice but were unable to hold it in the dying minutes of the game.

Now they will face off once again on 17th April and this could be Koeman’s last realist chance of winning a silverware this season. The Catalans fought their way into the finals and they will be expected to show the same vigor in the finals that they showed against Sevilla.

After a shock 2-0 loss in the first leg, the pressure was on for the Catalans but they made a miraculous comeback to win 3-0 and secure the game 3-2 on aggregate. Koeman’s men must keep the same determination if they want to avoid another upset.

Do you think Barca can avoid another upset in the finals?
