Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing Barcelona wonderkid Ilaix Moriba amid interest from Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig.

More from Everything Barca

Ilaix has been a student of La Masia since the age of seven and has already made four first-team appearances at the age of 18.

Despite having fan-favorite Riqui Puig on the bench to use as a second to youngster Pedri, Coach Ronald Koeman has recently started preferring Ilaix ever since his debut in January against Cornella.

Since then the youngster has featured twice in the Spanish league, having an assist to his name on both occasions. Mundo Deportivo now reports that both Manchester United and RB Leipzig are keen on convincing the player to make a switch with only 18 months remaining in his contract.

The youngster shares the same agent as Gareth Bale and many worry that his intentions might be to help him get a more regular role elsewhere. Barca boss, however, has started giving the teenager more opportunities to showcase his talents.

Koeman even picked the youngster over the more experienced Puig against Sevilla, when Barca desperately needed a goal to equalize in the Copa del Rey clash.

The Dutch coach deserves recognition as he has really embraced the Barca youngsters with players like Ansu Fati, Ronald Araujo, Oscar Mingueza, Puig, and Moriba all defining a new era at the Nou Camp.

It remains to be seen how the player progresses under Koeman but it is clear that he wants to stay at Camp Nou and the appointment of a new president will see his contract being extended for a long time.
