Ronald Koeman claimed that he is extremely proud of the new and positive attitude which has been acquired by Barcelona.

More from Everything Barca

Not long ago, the Catalans fell into a bit of a slump with a few back-to-back disappointing results. They lost 2-0 to Sevilla in the Copa del Rey, they were humiliated at the Camp Nou by Paris Saint-Germain and finally, they failed to capitalize on Atletico Madrid dropping points in the La Liga.

Things were not looking too good for them but they have since then found some new spirit and the team seems to have turn things around. They played three games since their draw against Cadiz and they have kept clean sheets in all three of them. Their most impressive victory has to be the one against Sevilla where they were able to make a brilliant comeback to win the tie 3-2 on aggregate.

Barcelona have an improved attitude and Koeman couldn’t be happier

Thus Barcelona have entered the finals of the Copa del Rey and they even have a slim chance of winning the La Liga. With 13 games left to play, the Catalans sit in the second position with a five points gap from first place. The lead is still a strong one but the Blaugranas still have a match left against Atletico and they could take points away in that match.

Overall, there has been a big improvement and Koeman believes that the change starts in the locker room. He said in the pre-match conference against Osasuna that the team has a new attitude and the players are ready to win. He told the reporters,

"“I am really proud of the atmosphere in the dressing room. The team believes in itself. The important thing is the players are united. I liked seeing everyone, even the substitutes, celebrating the goals and the qualification for the Copa del Rey final,”“I don’t know if we’re stronger than our rivals. We’re doing well and we’re putting a lot of energy into our games. Our play with the ball is good and we’re creating chances. You notice that the fans are happy because there’s a buzz around the team after some tough times. We have worked hard for this feeling with the supporters. I hope they’re back in the ground soon. We need them.”Source SPORT"

When asked whether he still believes that the club can lift the La Liga title this season, the Dutch manager replied that the team needs to be more realistic with their expectations and that they need to focus on maintaining their form.

That is true, Barcelona cannot do much at this point in the league other than win games themselves. They have put up a good fight against Diego Simeone’s side but the pitiful start at the beginning of the campaign has come around bite them.

The team still has the Copa del Rey to fight for and also a tough second leg against the French Champions however, that seems like a task too big to complete. However, if there is one thing that we have learned from the semi-final match against Sevilla, is that Barcelona are fighters and they will not bow down to any team. They will fight till the last minute so we can expect some good upcoming matches from the Blaugrana.
