The 33-year-old superstar has been faithful to the Catalans throughout his professional career and one cannot imagine him without the famous red and blue colors. However, Messi did try to leave the club back in August of last year, and he has made no commitment to the Blaugrana as of yet.
One of the clubs he could end up at next season would be PSG. The French champions want to acquire a high-level player such as Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo and now is their perfect chance to do so. They will be acquiring the six-time Ballon d’Or winner for free and they have enough money to offer him a huge contract.
Lionel Messi is being persuaded by Neymar to join PSG according to L’Equipe
On top of that one of the biggest reasons as to why the Argentine could end up with PSG rather than with a club like Manchester City is due to one of his best friends, Neymar. The Brazilian superstar has a great relationship with Messi and they continued to be friends even after he left the club back in 2017.
Neymar had previously spoken about the possibilities of his old teammate joining him at PSG and he had said,
"“what I want the most is to play with Messi again. Where would he play? It’s not a problem, he could even play in my position. We should try and make it happen next season.”Source SPORT"
According to French newspaper, L’Equipe, the player has not given up hopes about bringing the Argentine to his team and he will continue to persuade Messi. L’Equipe insists that Neymar has been talking to his former teammate about the perks of living in a metropolitan city like Paris and the benefits of playing in the Ligue 1.
Although the former Barcelona man is trying his best, nothing is certain at the moment. Messi is visibly happier at Camp Nou now after the improvement of results and the new president could also try to persuade him. Still, at the end of the day, it is his decision to make, and outside influence will not be able to change his mind.
