As we all know, the Catalans are going through a rough time financially speaking, they have amassed a massive debt of 1.2 billion euros so signing players should be out of the question at the moment.
Still, the club’s new president, Joan Laporta, is convinced that he can manage to bring one of Europe’s finest strikers to their side. Borussia Dortmund has put a 100 million euros price tag on the player so it will be more difficult to acquire him than Laporta had hoped for.
Barcelona have a plan to secure super striker, Haaland.
So how will Barcelona afford the megastar in their financial situation? Well, the club may not have much in their account at the moment but they boast a lot of big names who could bring in some serious money into the club. Phillipe Coutinho and Antoine Griezman alone are worth around 250 million euros however, due to their performance and the pandemic, their values must have gone down drastically.
They have other options to sell as well such as Martin Braithwaite, Neto, Firpo, Samuel Umtiti, and Miralem Pjanic. A lot of them could bring the club at least 50 million euros. Ousmane Dembele is another potential candidate and the Blaugrana even tried to sell him last season but could not as the French star wanted to stay on. He has been performing decent under Ronald Koeman but a swap with Haaland is a no-brainer.
The club needs players, the manager needs players and Laporta wants to secure at least one top-level player. Thus the plan is to secure free players such as Eric Garcia, Sergio Aguero, maybe even David Alaba and then spend all their money on Haaland. Plus Laporta is also good friends with the player’s agent, Mino Raiola thus there is a good possibility of signing one of the most talented youths in world football.
Do you think Barcelona will be able to secure Haaland next season?
