This has sparked many experts to believe that the Argentine maestro will leave his boyhood club to join a more competitive squad as at 33 years of age, Messi does not have many more seasons in the top-level.

While the Argentine has made it clear that he is completely focused on the task at hand with the Catalans now keen on winning both La Liga and Copa del Rey, his future at the Nou Camp remains uncertain.
Newly elected president Joan Laporta did reveal that he has the best chance of convincing Messi to stay; and that the player’s love for the club and a squad filled with youth should be enough to convince him, what Messi desires is a competitive squad to fight for every title possible.
