22-year-old Araujo has been an absolute sensation this season at the Catalan side. The youngster was picked up from the Barca B side when Gerard Pique was out injured. The veteran center-back was deemed to be out for a long time and thus the club needed someone to step up. Samuel Umtiti was the only other experienced defender but even he was going through recovery at that time and thus was not available.
Barcelona star makes a much-needed return.
In their time of need, Araujo accepted the challenge and showed Barcelona exactly what he was worth. The young center-back was solid in the defense and although he did make a few mistakes, he rectified them in his next matches, this shows that he is ready to learn and become a stable player for the Catalan side.
The Uruguayan has been more stable than Clement Lenglet and thus it is hard not to put him into the team. The player suffered an ankle injury in the match against Deportivo Alaves back in February and has not been able to get back on to the pitch till now. He did make a cameo against Sevilla in the league but that only aggravated his preexisting injury.
The star is, however, set to make a return in their next league match as he was seen training with the first squad on Saturday. This is excellent news for the fans of the club as they have started to believe that the La Liga might still be won by them. Having Araujo at the back would make them even stronger and they could take the title race to the very last matchday.
