Barcelona are desperately in need of a solid number 9 after Luis Suarez’s exit to Atletico Madrid and have been looking at Sergio Aguero of Manchester City. The Argentine’s contract expires this summer and with no renewal in talks, he seems to be a perfect fit for Barca.

However, with his free-agent status and his superb skill, the 32-year-old is a target for many clubs. According to reports, Chelsea are also looking at Aguero to solve their attacking problems. With the London side’s financial stability, Barca faces some serious competition and will have to strike a deal soon to avoid losing its target.

If Aguero decides he wants to remain in the Premier League and play top-tier football without moving to the Spanish League, then Chelsea will be front-runners to sign the City legend.

Meanwhile, the Spanish giants face another threat of competition from PSG who are also interested in acquiring the striker. PSG are holding on to Neymar and Kylian Mbappe but with the transfer season looming they are bound to keep their options open and are potentially interested in Aguero.

Barcelona still have a chance to secure Aguero

Due to no new contract talks and the lack of game-time for the superstar, City boss, Pep Guardiola addressed the situation and said no talks will be held until the end of the season.

"“For the human being, as a person, as what he is, even as a player, of course. But we have to see what happens at the end of the season. We cannot forget how long he was out. Now we start to get him better.”“I know he needs minutes to get to his best condition but we are not maybe in the moment that you can give minutes [for the sake of giving] minutes.”“So we are going to speak, I think the club will speak with his agent and know the situation, and we are going to talk at the end of the season.”Source: Goal"

Sergio Aguero would certainly be a great fit for the Catalans and hopefully, they can convince him to come to Camp Nou.
