Barcelona predicted lineup vs Real Sociedad: Lionel Messi starts, Griezmann on the bench
Ronald Araujo could return to the Barcelona starting lineup
Defence:
Centre back: Oscar Mingueza
Oscar Mingueza has been seen his image among fans reverse in a span of a few months. From what was perceived as an average La Masia product with minimal a shot in the senior team, Mingueza has come a long way building on the back of industrious and solid performances. So much so that Barcelona are eager to extend his current deal by auto renewing him till 2023.
Mingueza will be a part of the back three, slotting on the right side, striving to have a perfect game as his growth skyrockets.
Centre back: Ronald Araujo
Ronald Araujo has returned from injury and wasn’t risked as a starter against Huesca. The 22 year old would be fit to start, releasing Frenkie de Jong from the centre back duties. Araujo is another young centre back who has impressed in the Barcelona backline, showing glimpses of his potential, emerging as one of the strongest leaders in the backline. With Gerard Pique hitting 34 in February, Araujo is increasingly winning confidence as the long term successor to the Spaniard.
Centre back: Clement Lenglet
Clement Lenglet’s performances have been termed deplorable and unacceptable as per Barcelona standards by the fans this season and to an extent the drop in his displays is visible and so is the drop in his confidence.
With constant backing from Ronald Koeman, he has started to revitalize himself and that has reflected on the pitch. He will look to continue the solid string of performances in the game against Real Sociedad as he attempts to win back the support of the fans.
