Phillipe Coutinho has been one of Barcelona’s biggest blunders ever however, they could have a way out next season as Arsenal are reportedly interested in the Brazilian star.

More from Everything Barca

The 28-year-old Brazilian joined the club back in 2018 for a massive sum of 160 million euros making him the Catalan’s biggest transfer in their entire history, but he also turned out to be their biggest mistake. The former Liverpool man had shown his class in the Premier League however, he was unable to replicate that in the La Liga.

Barcelona star could be headed back to the Premier League next season.

Along with sub-par performances, his season on loan was riddled with injuries. Coming back from Bayern Munich, the midfielder looked strong and determined to show his true potential to the Barcelona fans finally however, after managing only three goals and two assists in 14 appearances across all competitions, he once again succumbed to injuries.

Coutinho is currently out with a rupture and will not be available at least until April. This sums up his career with the Blaugrana, and its disappointing to say the least. The Catalans on top of that will have to pay 20 million euros more to Liverpool if he makes 100 appearances. The player is currently at 90 and thus it would be a good idea to get rid of him once and for all.

According to the Sport via Daily Express, Premier League giants, Arsenal, have apparently kept their eyes on the Brazilian as their backup plan. The Gunners are currently enjoying Martin Odegaard at their side however, Real Madrid are keen on bringing him back next season.

The North London side wants to keep the Norweigan player and will go into negotiations with him however if that fails then Coutinho is their backup option. The sale of the midfielder will be amazing for the Catalan Kings as they need to raise money in order to reduce their debt and they will also be spared from paying a lump sum to Jorgen Klopp’s side.
