Former Barcelona player, Jordi Cryuff, gave a lot of credit to Ronald Koeman for successfully pulling through a very tough season.
The former Everton coach took on the role of Barcelona’s head coach after the team exited from the UEFA Champions League in an embarrassing fashion. From the performance against Bayern Munich, it was clear that the team required a lot of work and Koeman stepped up to help his former side.
Jordi Cryuff backs Barcelona boss to continue on the good path.
The Dutchman went from a Catalan legend to the manager of the great club and the pressure was on his shoulder. Apart from the failing team, the manager also had to deal with the financial trouble that the club is currently going through. Cryuff understood the manager’s plight and gave Koeman well deserved praise in his recent interview with Cadena Ser. He said,
"“Koeman has a lot of merit, not only for football. He has come to the club at a difficult time with respect to changing players, financial problems, all the institutional problems that were already there.”“I think dynamics are important in football. Let’s say there is a time when you see yourself capable of winning in any game. And have Barcelona recovered that feeling right now? Definitely.”Source Goal"

The son of the legendary Johan Cryuff went on to say that Koeman is already seeing the results of his hard work and being in the inner circle of the club beforehand, definitely gave him some advantage. While it has not been a perfect season for the Blaugrana, they should not expect any more than what they have already achieved this season.
The Catalans are still in the title race and they have a chance to win the Copa del Rey if they do not mess up again as they did in the Supercopa de Espana. Joan Laporta has also backed Koeman and it seems like the Dutch manager is here to stay for good and pull the club through this transitional phase.
