According to Catalunya Radio, Haaland apparently only wants to play for either Barcelona or Real Madrid. Recently, Alfie Haaland, the father of Erling Haaland, and his agent Mino Raiola were seen in Spain this week.
According to the reports, they were there to negotiate with Barcelona and Real Madrid. These reports also suggest that his father and Raiola will be heading to England in the coming weeks to discuss with Premier League clubs.
Erling Haaland wants Barcelona or Real Madrid
The 20-year-old reportedly wants to play in Spain, in La Liga. He has been in such fantastic form that all the top clubs are in dire need of signing him. The player’s agent met with Barcelona president Joan Laporta who stated that the club are willing to buy him in 2022. Haaland’s contract suggests that in 2022 he can be bought at the price of 75 million. But if he is to be signed in the coming summer, a club has to cough up a total of 150 million euros at least.
The Catalans are not exactly capable of spending that amount of money given their current financial problems at the club. They are also aware that they cannot compare with Real Madrid when it comes to money as of now. However, the president has promised to make Erling Haaland the second highest-earning player in the squad after Lionel Messi. If the Argentine is to depart this summer as his contract is coming to an end, then the project will be built around the Borussia Dortmund forward.
Haaland will surely be a fantastic addition to this very young and ripe Blaugrana squad.
