Manchester United star hails Lionel Messi as ‘out of this world’
Lionel Messi has been regarded as one of the best players in the world for over a decade now and it is nothing new for players to shower him with praises. Manchester United’s Fred is the latest player to hail the Argentine as the best in the world and even went on to say that the player is in fact ‘completely out of this world’.

Fred and his teammate, Alex Telles did a question and answer session with the Red Devil’s official website and in that session, they were asked who was the toughest player they have faced up against.
Manchester United’s Fred hails Lionel Messi
The midfielder decided to go with the six-time Ballon d’Or winner while the left-back decided that Neymar was in fact the best player he played against. Fred said in the interview,
"“Neymar is a great player, it is so difficult to mark him. For me, I think the toughest player I came up against was Messi; he’s out of this world, he’s a genius.”“For me he’s the best in the world, a great player and I think he’s the toughest opponent I’ve played against.”Source Goal"
Fred faced up with the Catalan captain in the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. The Blaugrana won the game comfortably 4-0 with the mercurial captain scoring a brace in the second leg. The United midfielder played both the matches, full 90 minutes and he got a taste of what it is like facing against the best player in the world.
Messi has been on top form this season as well and he is the top scorer in La Liga at the moment with 23 goals and he is only behind Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo in the top five leagues in Europe. His future with Barcelona has still not been cemented however, Joan Laporta is confident that he can persuade him into staying, and honestly, everyone in the footballing world would want to see Messi finishing his career with the club that he loves.
