Defence:

Goalkeeper: Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Marc-Andre ter Stegen managed to keep a clean sheet against Real Valladolid, pulling off two saves. The German will be hopeful of keeping the likes of Karim Benzema away from the goal. Ter Stegen is trustworthy and often saves the best version of himself for the El Clasico.

Centre back: Oscar Mingueza

Oscar Mingueza is becoming a household name in Barcelona defence as Ronald Araujo and Gerard Pique were recovering from injuries. Mingueza’s robust tackling, reliable passing and makes him a solid player to have in the back three. The Spaniard is getting better with each game and growing in confidence.

Centre back: Ronald Araujo

Ronald Araujo has been fit for the last couple of games but hasn’t started any of those games because the last time he rushed himself to the lineup, the Uruguayan ended up having a relapse to his ankle injury. Araujo played 27 odd minutes against Valladolid and looked ready to start a game. The 22-year-old has arguably been the best centre back for Barcelona this season and is likely to start in the all-important El Clasico.

Centre back: Clement Lenglet

The trio of Mingueza, Araujo and Clement Lenglet in the defence would mean that Frenkie de Jong would not appear in the libero role but instead in his usual midfield position. Lenglet had an impressive outing against the Blanquivioletas and will be hoping to carry this momentum in the El Clasico.
