Barcelona legend Gerard Pique was not happy with the refereeing on Saturday’s El Clasico tie. The centre-back was seen quarreling with the referee right after the game had ended. Barcelona fans and players were absolutely disgusted by the referee’s performance. None of the players were happy with the referee and a lot of them were seen surrounding the official after the final whistle was blown.

Even Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman was extremely unhappy with the match officials. The coach had a lot to say about the officials during his post-match press conference. He was unhappy with the defeat and had stated that the referee and the VAR were against him and his team. The Dutchman stated that his team was unlucky when it came to VAR and decisions.

Gerard Pique was absolutely furious at Jesus Gil Manzano who was the main official for the Clasico. The player was heard asking for a little bit more extra time at the end of the game. While the staff from the Barcelona side tried to restrain Pique, the defender turned more furious and repeated the phrase “let me speak” (to Manzano) multiple times.

The Catalans ended up losing 3 Clasicos in a row which has been a new achievement for Real Madrid in over 3 decades. Barcelona failed to win and Real Madrid did the league double over them this year with wins at the Nou Camp and the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium.

As of now, Real Madrid are one point behind Atletico Madrid who have just won 3 games out of their last 10 games. Barcelona are two points behind Atletico and one behind Real Madrid. The La Liga has been exquisite this season as the two giants made a comeback. The competition has been fierce so far and the clear winner is not yet visible. With 8 games to go the league can go down to be one of the greatest showdowns in La Liga history.
