The player is currently on loan at Real Betis as the Catalan side continues to contemplate whether to count on him for next season or sell him and net a profit. Emerson has drawn interest from Tottenham and PSG.

According to Mundo Deportivo, The Catalan giants has already rejected an offer from PSG. The report claims that the Parisian side made a €15 million bid. A bid that was deemed to low.
Barcelona and Real Betis share the rights, so to speak, of Emerson’s contract. Thus, if he is sold, the clubs split the transfer fee.
Emerson inching closer to a Barcelona return come next season.
Which is why the Blaugranas are now contemplating having the player return and take part in preseason training. If he is brought back, they will need to pay Betis €9 million.
If he does return, he would be in competition for Sergiño Dest. Emerson has impressed during his time with Betis and will fight for a starting spot.
It could also have some ramifications for other players, mainly Sergi Roberto. He’s been the starter/backup for a while now. His contract is set to end next season and the two sides are not close to an extension.
This could open up the possibility that Roberto could be moved on during the summer.
Given the change in formation, Emerson could be a perfect fit as part of a 3-5-2 and playing as a right wingback.
As it stands, Barca are currently of two minds. Either he comes back and stays next season or he goes if the right offer comes along.
