Attack

Lionel Messi

No surprise that Barcelona’s best player is going to start. Lionel Messi may have missed a penalty in the win against Valencia, but he scored in the ensuing chaos and scored a wonderful free-kick.

The fact of the matter is a lot of the team’s play flows through the Argentinian. He’s become their cheat code and has the ability to change a game even if the rest of the team aren’t playing well.

An added bonus is he’s scored 26 goals in 29 games against Atletico so the odds are high he may find himself on the scoresheet.

Antoine Griezmann

Barcelona have been getting the Antoine Griezmann they were hoping for when they signed. He, too, scored against Valencia and has been crucial in the last month or so.

He’s been able to form a connection with Messi which has paid off. He’s overtaken Ousmane Dembélé as he’s been carrying a nagging injury that has limited his playing time.

Griezmann is going to get a chance to get one over on his former team. He’s appeared to regain some of his confidence and Barcelona will be hoping his scoring streak continues.
