Barcelona: Sergio Aguero arrival depends on Lionel Messi extension
Sergio Aguero to Barcelona is a done deal. The Argentine leaves Manchester City as one of the legends of the club, helping Manchester City win five league titles and many other trophies. Even though it’s almost certain that Aguero will be joining Barca but it still depends on Lionel Messi.
Aguero and Messi have been best friends since their early Argentina days and the duo continue to bond despite playing in different teams and leagues. Aguero leaves Man City as a free agent and has agreed a deal in principle with Barcelona. However, his announcement will not happen soon.

Earlier, it was expected that the striker would land in Barcelona post the UEFA Champions League final and undergo a medical at the club before eventually signing the contract. However, Kun Aguero’s final yes depends on one condition.
According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Aguero’s final ‘yes’ depends on Messi’s continuity at the club. The Blaugrana are also negotiating an extension with the La Pulga but the extension hasn’t happened yet.

President Joan Laporta provided an update on Messi’s contract situation yesterday stating that the negotiations are going well. He is moderately optimistic about Messi’s extension.
"“Messi’s new contract is going well, but it has not been done. We must continue working with all the executives involved. We will make a proposal that sits within the possibilities of the club. The relationship is good. We are preparing whatever is necessary within the possibilities of the club for Leo to continue.”“We have made an offer within the possibilities of Barca. Leo surely deserves much more and can achieve more. But, because of his desire to make Barca great, I think he is appreciating the effort being made and I think he is very excited to continue. It is not a question of money, it is a team project with the possibility of winning everything. We have moderate optimism.” (via Goal)"
As far as the Aguero deal goes, all parties are very relaxed and there is no rush from the Aguero camp. The 32 year old’s priority remains to continue his career at Barcelona with Messi but other clubs are closely following his situation.
It cannot be ruled out either that Aguero arrives in Barcelona for a medical before joining the Argentine camp for the Copa America. In case this does happen, Aguero’s camp is confident about Messi’s stay and his continuity with Blaugrana is closer.
