#6 Jordi Alba (Barcelona 2-1 Real Sociedad)

Jordi Alba had a phenomenal season under Koeman and it is easy to see why the Dutch manager chose to replace Nelson Semedo in the first eleven. Semedo was supposed to replace Alba and he got a lot of chances in the 2019/20 season however, in the last season, Koeman decided to sell him and play Alba instead. The veteran left-back ended up with 15 assists across all tournaments and also scored five goals. His goal against Real Sociedad in particular was amazing to watch as it showed that he was not afraid to go for a shot and that he had the shooting of a world-class player.

The Catalans were down 1-0 and they were looking for some inspiration to get back into the game. The Sociedad players had decided on defending in numbers, thus not allowing space to the attackers at all. However, they did not mark Alba very well and a misplaced clearance in the box landed in Alba’s way. He took the shot with immense confidence and curled the ball into the top right corner. Not only was it a superb goal visually, it was also an important goal that allowed Barcelona back into the game and they went on to win the game 2-1.
