#1 Best Player

Finally, the most coveted award of them all, the Best player award has to go to the one and only, Lionel Messi. The club captain and legend had yet another tremendous season with the club he has grown up in. There was a huge controversy that he would be leaving the club after a horrendous 2019/20 season however, the player managed to put all that behind him and perform amazingly on the field.

The Argentine captain scored 30 goals in La Liga alone, securing his fifth consecutive Pichichi Trophy. He has been a rock-solid leader for Barcelona in their transitional period and he has even helped the youngsters of the club develop. While it is not sure whether the player will stay or not, recent reports suggest that the player’s love for the club will compel him to stay.

It has been said that Messi has even agreed to accept a wage cut in order to extend his contract. His actions on and off the pitch show us that he is not only the best player of last season but the best player in the club’s history.
